WHITENING
Whitening is a conservative, simple and totally safe way to improve a person’s smile by making it brighter.
The method suggested refers to the combination of whitening at home (with the use of a splint) and whitening at the office (with more powerful whiteners at controlled conditions).
Photographs of the original condition as well as impressions of the teeth are taken in order to make the splints at the lab. Subsequently, the splints with the bleaching material are given to the client with detailed directions for their application and use. The entire procedure lasts two to four weeks, depending on the desired result, in which time the two sessions are held at the dental office.
COMPOSITE FILLINGS
When a tooth is afflicted by decay, it is necessary to be therapeutically handled promptly because, if the decay is left unchecked, it will evolve and destroy healthy dental tissue and, in more advanced cases, it will affect the pulp.
All the fillings of the front and back teeth are done with the use of composite resin.
After the essential local anesthesia, with the use of high magnification goggles for the best imaging of details, the tooth is cleaned from the decay and possible older fillings and is sealed with Tetric Evoceram and Empress Direct resin of Ivoclar Company. Simultaneously, the most current protocols are used that fit the case.
The result is a tooth of high functionality and aesthetics with great endurance in time.
ONLAYS
In cases where a back tooth – a molar or a premolar – has lost a large part of dental tissue – a typical case of a fractured tooth-, a simple filling cannot fully convey the anatomy and function of the tooth, whereas the solution of the crown is aggressive for the tooth because it requires additional removal of healthy dental tissue and possibly lead to endodontic treatment.
In these cases, the treatment of choice is the onlays, ceramic or composite. In essence, they are restorations of partial coverage, which are cemented together with resinous materials while leaving intact both the dental tissues and the periodontium since they do not come in contact with the gums but only where the damage may be neighbouring them.
Their time resistance is proven as well as their exceptional aesthetics – especially that of the ceramic ones.
VENEERS
Veneers of composite resin and porcelain veneers are very conservative solutions for the improvement of the smile since they require minimum removal of dental matter.
They are recommended for the correction of small dental divergences, contractions or spacing.
Depending on the problem, they may concern one or more teeth, whereas they can be combined with other treatments such as whitening.
Veneers of synthetic resin are appropriate for smaller interventions, while porcelain veneers are the perfect predictability solution to achieve excellent results in cases with high aesthetic requirements.
