WHITENING

Whitening is a conservative, simple, and entirely safe way to improve a person's smile by making it brighter.

The recommended method combines whitening at home (with the use of a custom tray) and whitening at the office (with stronger whitening agents under controlled conditions).

Photographs of the original condition and impressions of the teeth are taken in order to fabricate the trays in the laboratory. The trays with the bleaching material are then provided to the patient with detailed instructions for their application and use. The entire procedure lasts two to four weeks, depending on the desired result, during which time two sessions are also held at the dental office.

COMPOSITE FILLINGS

When a tooth is affected by decay, it is essential to treat it promptly because, if left unchecked, the decay will progress and destroy healthy dental tissue and, in more advanced cases, affect the pulp.

All fillings of the front and back teeth are done with composite resin.

After administering local anaesthesia, and with the use of high-magnification loupes for optimal detail, the tooth is cleaned of decay and any older restorations, then restored with Tetric Evoceram and Empress Direct resin by Ivoclar. The most current bonding protocols are applied depending on the case.

The result is a restoration of high functionality and aesthetics with excellent long-term durability.

ONLAYS

In cases where a posterior tooth -- a molar or premolar -- has lost a significant amount of tooth structure (a typical example being a fractured cusp), a simple filling cannot fully restore the anatomy and function of the tooth, while a full crown is too aggressive because it requires further removal of healthy dental tissue and may necessitate endodontic treatment.

In these cases, the treatment of choice is the onlay, ceramic or composite. In essence, onlays are partial-coverage restorations bonded with resin-based materials, preserving both the dental tissues and the periodontium, since they do not contact the gums except where the damage may extend near them.

Their durability is well established, as is their exceptional aesthetics -- particularly those made of ceramic.

VENEERS

Composite resin veneers and porcelain veneers are very conservative solutions for improving the smile, since they require minimal removal of tooth structure.

They are suitable for correcting minor misalignments, rotations, or spacing.

Depending on the problem, they may involve one or more teeth and can be combined with other treatments such as whitening.

Composite resin veneers are appropriate for smaller corrections, while porcelain veneers offer highly predictable, excellent results in cases with high aesthetic demands.

Our materials of choice for resin veneers are Empress Direct and for porcelain veneers IPS e.max.
