Orthodontics deals with the movement of teeth to achieve aesthetic improvement of the patient's smile as well as functional rehabilitation of the bite. This can be accomplished either with orthodontic brackets (braces) or transparent aligners, depending on the case.
Orthodontic tooth movement with thin transparent aligners is the least invasive method for aesthetic smile improvement, particularly for adults. The tooth movements are first planned digitally, so the patient can see a preview of the expected result before treatment begins.
Treatment lasts a few months -- depending on the severity of the case -- the aligners are easily tolerated after the first few days, and they are virtually invisible.
